BMW : Past & Present
Aeronautics, motorcycles and automobiles are all part of BMW’s long-standing history, which dates back to 1916. In 1986, the Bavarian brand made its debut in Canada as a full-on car maker and no longer as a mere importer. Its network of 38 concessionnaires is well established in the country. Among the lineup are various sedans, coupes, convertibles and wagons from the 1-, 3, 5, 6 and 7 Series. The X3 and X5 SUVs and the sporty Z4 target specific customers, while the ultra-high performance M-Series models (3, 5 and 6) appeal to the most hardcore driving enthusiasts.

Whitby, ON. BMW Canada is pleased to confirm that the BMW X1 will go on sale in Canada in calendar year 2011. The X1 has been conceived with the flexibility to offer traditional rear-wheel drive and xDrive all-wheel drive configurations, as well as a wide variety of gasoline and diesel powertrain choices. In light of rapidly evolving North American market demands, fuel prices, and regulatory standards, elements of the X1's Canadian launch plan, including engine and drivetrain configurations, are not yet confirmed and will be announced closer to market launch.
