I've sold a few Acuras lately, not that I was trying. It's just that I get asked all the time what car is the best in a certain

class, and all too often my answer is Acura. My uncle recently purchased a compact TSX sedan after I made the recommendation and another good friend, after consultation, just told me he's going to trade in his Nissan Maxima for a new TL. And it's not like I've been wooed by Honda PR staff or anything. While most in the industry know that wining and dining does little good in persuading me to write a positive review, the folks at Honda, Acura's parent company in case you weren't aware, haven't gone overboard to get me on their good side.

My reasoning for now recommending Acuras is because they have become especially good in recent years. Take the RSX for instance. EL 1.7 aside, it's probably the least impressive Acura with regards to interior quality.

Still, its materials, fit, finish and ergonomics are best in class. Acura still offers high quality treatments on the majority of interior surfaces in the 2005 model, including a nicely textured soft-touch woven material covering the dash, titanium finish accents throughout to match the new titanium stitching in the seats and trim, chrome shift lever garnish and handbrake knob, new white-faced gauges, and redesigned front seats with thicker cushions for added comfort and support. Some plastic components don't offer the tactile quality of rivals, for instance, such as the rotating air vents which are not made of premium grade plastic. Near identical vents on the dash of a Toyota Matrix that just happened to be parked in my driveway at home the day I drove the RSX Type S, are much nicer. But quibbling aside, the sport coupe's interior is well put together.
