Chrysler LLC Statement in Response to UAW Ratification of Contract

Chrysler won't close any dealerships in Canada

While more and more information keep coming about Chrysler closing 789 dealerships in the United States by June 9, 2009, it looks like Canada will be spared and retain all three corporate brands -- Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge.

Chrysler bankruptcy: 789 U.S. dealers to be phased out

Automotive News got a copy of a memo from Chrysler that reportedly confirms the elimination of 789 dealers in the United States by June 9, 2009. The decision will be made official in the upcoming days. As we speak, phased-out dealers are receiving a letter of confirmation.

Chrysler's first ever electric vehicle is scheduled to be launched in 2010, with three more EV's in production by 2013. At this year's North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the American automaker showed the public updated versions of three electric powered vehicles that were first announced several months back- including a Lotus-esque Dodge sports car (now called the 'Circuit'), a Chrysler Town and Country EV and a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited EV.
