View Full Version : "94 VW Jetta Transmission
Currently experiencing difficulty shifting into "OD". I have a '94 VW Jetta 4 speed automatic with 123,000 Kms . Up to 100KM/hr. Shifting seems normal. However, after 100Km/hr engine noise increases and appears to be laboured. The only other noticable point of interest is the fact that the tachometer follows the speedometer in a linear fashion.

The only other noticable point of interest is the fact that the tachometer follows the speedometer in a linear fashion.
This is usually due to the fact that the 3rd gear (or prior to OD) has a ratio of 1 to 1. Egine speed and transmission speed increase at the same rate.
As far as not shifting into OD, I cannot recall why this would happen. It may have to do with the valve-body or the electronics.
