I'm considering selling our car so we can buy a new one.

We have a 1999 BMW 323i, titanium silver, black leatherette interior, full sports package, spoiler, 6 disk CD changer, floor mats, chrome exhaust. It's a real sweet ride with about 59,000 miles on it (about 95,000 km). It's a Canadian car, but I had an American speedometer put in it as we lived in the US for 4 years immediately after we bought it. (The speedometer also shows kmh, so it's fully legal in Canada.) All the scheduled maintenance has been done by BMW, full maintenance records available.

So, what's it worth? What could I expect for a trade in?

It's tough to come up with an exact amount but I would say that you could ask between $18,000 and $20,000. You can try to ask for a little more but expect to get negotiators...

Thanks again, General. I neglected to mention that I put primo rubber on the car just two years ago (Michelin "Pilots", cost me about $500 US per tire!), that the car spent most of its life in Oklahoma (no salt, very short winter), and is currently being stored in a garage, saving it from a Winnipeg winter. So, I guess I'll be looking for that 20 grand.

You're welcome. Considering what you have added, the 20G should easily be justified.

Thanks for the support.

Now, if I could only get a BMW dealer to email me back a quote on an X3... I guess business must be pretty good in Winnipeg, as I haven't heard jack squat back for 3 days now.

woohoo!
