I brought my Toyota Camry to replace a gas tank at local Toyota dealership, while the service cannot complete within the same day, the dealer parked my car outside their shop overnight, guess what, the car was gone in the morning.

I thought the dealer would pay for the car rental plus the cost to fix it as the police found it a week later, guess what, the dealer was not liable for any costs. My insurance had to pay for everything.

Not only I am facing perhaps an increase for my insurance premium, I also needed to pay for the gas tank they said they had replaced.

Hard to justify!!!

woohoo!

Wherever your car is parked at night, your insurance covers it... ;-)

Yes. I found that out by now. Who would have thought a big Toyota dealership does not have a security policy in place? One Honda dealership in town has a better security policy, they blocked all the entrances at night, has a security guard to check as well. They also parked my car inside a secure fence last time when my car needed a service overnight.

I know it's not a good way to see things, but why would they spend so much money securing up the place when all the cars in the lot, new or customers', are already insured?

holy crap, that is rediculous... if it was me i would be pissed too.
I see that most of the dealership could careless about your vehicle being there for service. The way they drive your veh. and all. Serveral times i pick up my veh from them the doors was unlock.
DId they break into your car or there was no signs of glass breakage ?

No glass breakage, there was a screwdriver and a pair of pliers found inside my car. I guess for an older series of Carmy they were pretty easy to steal.
