Need some advice on a 1995 Saab 900s. non turbo.
The engine went on us at 250k and to put in another used motor is
about $2k.
Should I do it or just don`t waste the time and money on it.
It was a great car overall. If the motor job is done, could I get roughly
$5k on a pivate sale!
Thx for your help.

Saab's in general, or at least until 2000, have a very poor reliability record. They are very expensive to maintain and parts are typically very $$ also.
I'm surprised that you could get a 2.3L installed for so little money. It must be from a scrap yard...
Unless the body and interior are in absolute MINT condition, I would be surprised that you could get $5,000 for it. I may be wrong but if it was turbo, the story would be different.
I would tend to suggest that you sell the car for parts (unless you have recently spent many $$ in repairs) and buy something else.

The body is not in mint codition but it does not have any perforation,
just a little rust.
I did think of selling it part by part and eventually scrap it.
You think some one could buy it as is for about $2500.
The replacement motor is fro the scrap and has 175K on it....

That's what they say...
What I meant by "for parts" was to scrap the car but you might be right. There might be someone out there that needs Saab parts and is willing to buy it $2,000 or so. Ask for $2,500, but be negotiable.
