Need to look for a new car and have narrowed the choices down to the Mazda 6 Sport GS or the Honda Civic EX.

Which do you think is the better car? Any input is welcome.

I need to make a decision in the next couple of days. Time is up on my current lease, and I'm not buying it out.

Thanks!

Ditto on how the cars differ - but there is also on rather important point. The 6 has Mazda's traditional slant on performance whereas the Civic is more about comfort, ride and accomodation in a small package.

Both are very good cars indeed - however, generally speaking Mazda quality and reliability is not up to Honda's over the mid to long term.

A very big difference in price here as well. You can get the loaded Civic EX for $25K-ish, but will hit $30K or more with the 6. Gotta love the sportback version of the 6 though. Mazda came out with the thought of a non-wagon sport-touring car back with the old 626, and it's always been a hit.

Thanks for the input. I've decided to go with the Mazda6. I'm leasing so the difference in payments is minimal and actually works out cheaper for the Mazda.

Good choice, far less boring to look at and drive.
