Hey General and everyone else!
I finally managed to find a way to get out of my Honda PIlot lease.
I tried sellilng it privately but the demand for an SUV is just not there anymore. I think the HONDA PILOT falls under a really hard niche. It`s a great vehicle and if anybody can afford it I would totally recommend it. It`s a beauty to drive and gives you everything you always wanted in an SUV.
However, I think if someone is going to buy an SUV from HONDA they likely won`t be able to afford the PILOT and will opt for the CRV. If someone can afford it they`ll most likely go for an overpriced version of the PILOT and go for the Acura MDX - or buy something that gives you a higher status simble such as the BMW X5, LEXUS, VOLVO. ALl cars that in my opinion are inferior to the PILOT but have nicer styling and give you that "high Status simble".
ANyways, I traded it in...lost only $4000 on my lease exchange and I`ve ended up with a 2003 HONDA ACCORD LX with 63000kM. My PILOT already had 51000km.
I`m saving roughly $500 a month when you combine the lease, gas and insurance savings. En plus: The car is mine after 6 years. My PILOT was leased and I would have had to fork up another $ $26,000 at the end of the lease to keep it.
The moral of the story for me. I`m never buying new again. Especially if buying a HONDA or a TOYOTA sine these cars are probably number 1 ir reliability.
I feel like a whole big weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
