Hello everybody.

Lets talk about luxury cars that some people can actually afford.

This week Im on the road comparing the Lincoln Zephyr and the Hyundai Azera.

And you know what, im surprised but the Zephyr looses out to the Hyundai in almost every way.

Has anyone tried both? Because I dont WANT to believe that hyundai is making a better luzury car than one of America's oldest luxury brands, but thats the way things are looking.

Kinda makes sense, the Zephyr is nothing more than a fancy Fusion. But in the looks department I give the nod to the Lincoln, the Azera is very ugly in my subjective eyes, those bulgy rear fenders don't cut it and makes the car look aged, the rest of the car is plain. I have not driven either and have no interest in them either, for a bit more money I would get the Avalon, the upcoming Camry XLE is also an option, the revised Maxima promises.

While I am not totally crazed about the Azera's looks, it is better than the XG350 it replaces. Admittedly I have become something of a Hyundai convert lately since the purchase of our new 06 Sonata.

I accept the accomodation factor in the Azera for what it is - a full-size luxury sedan - plenty of bells and whistles, very nice hand on all surfaces, and I really like the rear window sunshade doodad. The first time I came across one of these was a few years ago on a BMW 5-series and I thought it was a great idea. I know Volvo, VW, and others have been including them, but nice to see it in the Hyundai now as well - this is one of those features we'll see trickle down the food chain to mid-sized cars over time - at least that's my guess.

Interesting... the Zephyr takes it hands down for styling and gawk factor but to drive.....nope.

the lincoln is way better looking, and the hyundai resembles a cross between an older camry and a buick century-

that 3.8 liter engine by the way is a real treat. Quiet and it goes like heck
reviews up soon folks.

One more thing, but since theyre renaming the Zephyr to the MKZ, does this make it the last car under a premuim brand to still have a name??
