If I buy a new car, should I buy the manufacture's Car Alarm System or install my own after I have purchased the car? Will installing my own Car Alarm System void the warranty? :roll:

Manufacturer's car alarm systems are pretty good - I wouldn't go to the trouble of buying another if you are buying a new car.

More valuable than a car alarm system would be a vehicle with an engine disable feature which works with special coded keys and won't let the engine start without a coded key. Not fool proof, but together with a car alarm it's a pretty effective detterent to car thieves.
