2005 Pathfinder - Vibration above 130 kms/hr

My 2005 Pathfinder gives off some serious front wheel vibration whenever I hit 130 kms on the highway. Obviously the wheels need to aligned and balanced. The truck is 20 months old and only has 40,000 kms on it. I was wondering if anyone can comment on hearing of this problem?

I was watching RoadTest on PBS (or whatever that show is called) a few weeks ago and their long-term Pathfinder had the same problem, which leads me to believe that all 2005's may have this as a concern. I have a service appointment on June 13th, and I am still under warranty, should Nissan be paying the bill for this wheel alignment and balancing? I do not off-road and do my best to avoid the "moon crater" pot holes on Montreal roadways. Any feedback is appreciated.

If they have the same problem on their Pathfinder, I doubt that this is a pothole issue. I would make a case of out it. They should repair this free of charge. It may have to do with more than just a wheel alignement...

Motor Week...of course. I just got the truck back from Spinelli servicing and they claimed that the vibration was due to some wheel weights having fallen off 2 of the wheels. So what am I going to do, I paid for the wheel alignment and balancing for $60 bucks - not the end of the world. The truck has been very reliable otherwise. So anyone that is looking for a deal on a good truck, check out the posting in Used Section of Forum. Thanks Le General!

Wheel weights are not suppose to fall unless you hit something very very hard with your truck. A Pathfinder is supposed to be ' Off-Road Rated'. I know that 60$ is not a big deal but I have won't pay for that especially is your truck have only 40000km on it. But I agree that at 60$ for wheel an alignment and a balancing it's a good deal.

I hear you! I didn't feel like arguing with Nissan. It's like telling a waiter your steak is not cooked properly, you never know what the chef is going to do to it behind closed doors.

I just tested a very expensive luxury car (that does not go off-road) and the wheel weights were falling off...

I'm glad that this was the only problem.

That's mean here, in both cases, there's somebody at the manufacturer plant or at the mechanic shop that did not make it's job properly. I never experienced this but I believe it could happen but very rarely. It is only a few cent or dollar piece for a weight...
