Now there's a large question!
Usual suspects:
Honda Accord (3rd)
Toyota Camry (2nd)
Mazda 626 (4th)
Nissan Altima (possibly the best pick)
Buick Century (5th)
These suggestions are for the specified years (94-99)
Make sure you get thew car inspected before you buy!!!

Never mind all that...
Don't be so cheap, give her yours and you buy the 94-99 for you. Ha!

Narrowed it down to an accord, corolla and a millenia. Any one have any viewpoints on the millenia? Is the accord or the corolla a safer bet? If I had to fix any of these cars, which would be cheaper to fix?

corolla is rock solid in those years..........reliable, cheap on fuel, and excellent visibility which is very important to a new driver.........for the buck, mid nineties sentras were pretty good, and of course, the civic..........think about what would be easy for her to drive as well as other issues..........i hate cars with big blind spots :)

What I'm really wondering is if anyone has any info on the millenia? Is it decent? Any major issues?

The Mazda Millenia is a strange and intriguing car. I once worked for a Mazda dealer so I got to briefly drive a few of them. It is a lovely car to drive (when new), it is powerful, smooth and comfortable.
What I can say for sure is that replacement parts are very expensive and there are few dealers out there that actually know how to service these cars. The car is reasonably reliable however I would strongly suggest that you look into a Mazda 626 or one of your other choices.
