When returning your leased vehicle to the dealer, do you trust them that they will be fair and honest with you for chargable damages.

It is very tough to say.
One thing that is certain is if your are leasing again with the same dealer, they will most likely overlook most or all of the little "problems" with the car.
Should you not lease again and are concerned that there might be something "wrong" with the car you are about to return, I would strongly suggest that you get it check by someone you trust before returning the car. That way, you will avoid unnecessary charges and costs.
It is not unusual for dealer to try and fill their pockets with bogus fees and repair costs.

All written lease return guides are useless because all car manufacturers
guidelines are DIFFERENT. Best way to know the condition of your leased vehicle and what you're up against prior to the return is AUTO CHECK CANADA www, accdirect.ca . Pointe finale.

Hi folks,
It really depends with what manufacture and what dealership you are dealing with. For example... I`m working for Hyundai Ulsan in Dorval, the oldest Hyundai dealership in Canada and our procedures are very very simple and clear.
When you lease a Hyundai vehicle, Credilinx Corporation, an independent compagny, is the lessor and not Hyundai Canada either the dealership.
When it is time to bring the car back as a lease return, Credilinx Corporation sends an independent inspector to inspect your car, it can be at work or at home, you have to take an appointment with them and he/she will come to your work or home and inspect the car (usually within 3-4 days you can get an appointment). The inspector inspects the car according to the agreements of the contract and leaves you a copy of the lease return inspection and the invoice (if needed). They are very fair with that ...
The dealership do not charges anything to the customers in regards of the lease return, the invoice from the inspection is in between the customer and Credilinx. It has nothing to do with leasing a new car or not from us.
The only thing we can actually do when you get charges on your lease return is to give you a reduction on the new lease and tac on the charges on the new lease. But its is the customer who ends up paying in both situations.
