Default sale of a vehicle

Hi, I'm new to this site but I would appreciate some advice? I put a $500.00 deposit down to search for a vehicle and signed a temporary bill of sale (no manager signed it!) and was told that the deposit was totally refundable. Well now that I can't get financing to purchase the vehicle and would like my deposit back, KW Mitsubishi decides to send us to court saying we are backing out of a signed deal! I say that this is ridculous and this could happen to anyone - I can't get the money! They want to take legal action against me! Do they have the right too?? Isn't there a 7 day cool off period??? Do I not have any rights concerning this??? Please help!!!!!
