Default Escape vs Liberty

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this site and looked at some of your comments and advices, and I think I can certainly get some help from guys like you.

I'm looking for a compact SUV and just looked at Ford Escape XLT and the Jeep Liberty Reneage. Can someone tell me what would be a better choice in terms of power, reliability, and price.

And in the same price range is there any other SUVs that you would recommend?

Thanks.

XOXOXO ops:

Hope I'm not too late.

My guess would be that Japan makes better everything. Honda with its CRV and Toyota with its RAV4 might be more reliable choices. Of course if you need to tow a boat or some heavy loads, americans make more powerfull drivetrain.

You might want to check our Road Tests section.

Purchase an Escape with a Duratec V6. The Duratec is a very very relaible engine and has plenty of power. In my opinion the Duratec engines surpass Japanese quality. Why? Cosworth molding process and cast steel internal parts. If its worth it to you Aston Martin, Jaguar, as well as lincoln use this engine in there automobiles. It is more common in Continentals and Taurus's.

Both vechiles are not worth it, they dont hold their value- poor performance. Perfect lease vehicles, hard to get out of your lease when you find out 4 months down the road, that you got screwed.
