Default Used rx-7 repair

i don't own an rx-7, but I would be interested in owning one sometime in the future. I especially like the old FC models like in the first and second generations.(about 1980s to 1990s) But I was wondering, are the parts used to repair it hard to find? if not, where can i find them? Knowing how hard and expensive it is to maintain will change my changes of getting a car like that because my budget isn't high(I'm a student). thank you for your time!

Default RX-7

I recommend that you do not buy it if you are on a limited income. Unless you can do your repairs your self I strongly recommend that you wait and buy it once you can afford it. Parts are still available for this car but they are very expensive. Treat it like a one of a kind type car. It pretty well is other than they built a lot but think of this, not many of it's parts were interchangeable with other Mazda products especially the engine hence making it one of a kind.
Good luck.
P.

Yes, I agree with Joshua, RX-7 are probably not the best choice if you’re on a tight budget. I had a 1998 model awhile back myself, its a nice ride, I liked it alot. I didn’t have any problems with it when I had it but actually the tranny got a little noisy so I sold it before it deteriorated. The thing is, parts are relatively costly and not many mechanics know too much about the vehicle to work on them properly unless you want to spend the extra money and go back to the dealership for service. Well that’s my 2 cents…

Default owned two

Nice, sporty car, until I have to change parts:
some examples---(this was some 8 ys. ago), just to compare,
spark plugs $28.00 CAD each, takes 4 (versus $3.oo a pair of
GM engines)
---the catalizer!!! $1000.00 each, needs two.,versus
american models about $170.oo.
beter think twice.
