Default 2004 Land Rover Freelander, New Model...Big Old Problem!

I have a brand new 2004 Freelander SE. I took delivery June 30th.
The first time I turned on my A/C, water started to spit through the interior vents (the kid's think it's a cool option) and poured from the passenger side footwell fan box. On fan speed 4, the spray actually hits the back seats. The claim they have never seen this before. Upon inspection they found the drain tube was blocked by insulation and corrected it. Problem persisted and much to our dismay, they advised that they had to pull the dash and since have apparently found a cracked evaporator drip tray, that must have been damaged at the factory, they replaced and tested, appeared okay. The problem still persists.

We have just found out that they most definitely have seen this before. There is apparently a known problem on the 2003 and 2004 Models when using the air-conditioner. The condensation that normally drains away through a drain tube to outside accumulates inside the air box. Something to do with the drain tube not moulded properly, not allowing the water to drain out.

Apparently there is no current solution to the problem. If you are buying or considering a Freelander, BEWARE! It is a huge problem, the water leak is ongoing and substantial! We've had our's only 5 Weeks with 600Kms. Land Rover is playing stupid and could care less!

If anyone is aware of this problem, or is a Land Rover certified technician that can substantiate this, please reply.
