Default Any VW fans out there?

Here is, IMO, one the hottest, most desirable VWs ever made:

Gotta show some love to the MK1s also:

Hey! What's the deal?

The Bunny has a 4 wheel disc brake conversion, a 2.0L 16v engine with Schrick cams, an O2O transmission, H&R coil overs and a TT exhaust. This thing may be repainted but it's very fast and handles amaizingly.

Wanna race buddy?

and no, it's not mine...

Race? Sure! Let me get out my '86 Corolla

I'll slide this puppy's 3-speed tranny into 'L' and you'll eat my rust pieces flying off!! That's a promise! hahaha

Tell you what,
I'm going to be a good sportsman and take out my BigWheel to give you a fighting chance when we race. I mean, this Corolla, I gotta watch out for the paint on my car anyways, I don't want the rust chunks to chip it.

I got this red 87' VW Cabriolet that has the need for speed...
Okay, just kidding.
But really, what kind of work could this car benefit from? Anything'd be great; power, suspension, what-the-hell-ever. What should I do first? I'm more into the whole Japanese scene right now and know diddly about Volkswagens. So anything would be good advice.
