Default chevy cobalt

will anyone buy the new chevy cobalt ss ? i think it looks awesome, and the 18" wheels and 205 hp supercharged engine sounds neat, but with insurance costs strangling young buyers, will the car be successful in canada ?

At 24 995$, I think it a great deal. It`s even cheaper than the Ion Redline. If it has tuning potential, like the SRT-4, it should sell well enough.

Default Chevy Cobalt

It might look great but GM has a history of putting out a new vehicle that has various reliability problems. The consumer ends up with a lemon the first year just like they did when the new Mailibu came out a few years back.

Wait a year. Most of the issues, if any, will surface in that period of time. GM will proceed with the necessary recalls and service bulletins to fix the problems.

That goes for all models, IMO.

Default like Saturn Ion Redline

Well, the CobaltSS is basically the same car as the Ion Redline. I could not get a straight answer from Saturn if the improvements put in the Cobalt were included in that version at a higher price.

Check out the Redline for comparison with the rearward opening back doors and easy entry if you are older or hve more friends or stuff to carry. Judging by the Redline I think it's a really nice civilized version of a musclecar. TheRedline performed so well and was so comfortable that even the non-coupe guy like me seriously jconsidered it, and then finally decided it was too youthful for an older guy.

There is no denying that it will attract a younger crowd. I just saw one at a GM dealer earlier today. I think it's pretty hot.

I agree. That's a good-looking car, with horsepower to back up its sporty looks.

I'd say: but cheaper wheels, lose the rear wing, take out some unessential standard features, create a "stripper" SS and sell it for $19,995.
