It's a Mercedes underneath, I can tell by the way the wheels lean into the corner.
But the auto that comes with the 3.5L V6 is strictlyAmerican--designed for leaving it in one gear. Over 10,000 extra to get the German tranny and hemi engine. So the cheap version squealed its tires (the front tires for a rear-wheel drive?) and ploughed in unforgiving understeer even with the stability control turned off. Hey--no advantage for the RWD--that's why I looked at the car in the first place. I bet there is a real difference with the Hemi. Who would I drive it knowing the G35 will blow it away in my opinion (with the manual 6speed gearbox of course. Damn it, BUT the 300 looks so good. |

It is based on the last generation E class Mercedes.
I have just tested a Magnum RT and over the next few weeks, I will drive a 300 Limited and a 300C. The Hemi delivers mad power. And you are right, the car understeers. The front end gets crazy over bumpy roads. I really did not like that. Overall, the ride is nice though.
