Default minivan

I have a passat, 3 kids, fed up 'cause there is not enough room in there. Want to buy a minivan. Any suggestions? I want a reliable car, like the gold old tercel has been to me...what about the previa?

Although all Toyotas are very reliable, the Previa has its engine mounted underneath, which is hard to access, and can make servicing difficult, although a Toyota dealer shouldn't have too much trouble with that. They're not very powerful, though, at 138 hp (or 161 in the rare supercharged versions).

If you can swing a pre-owned Sienna, IMO that would be better.

woohoo! is right. Because the engine is mounted under the dash/fornt seat, labour costs are quite high.

Also, a 1998-1999 Sienna would certainly do the trick. As well, if you can find a 1997-1998 Honda Odyssey (the smaller one) for a reasonable price.

What is most important is that you get the car checked before you buy it regardless of the type of car.
