Default Upper ball joint failures in Chrysler trucks

So, DaimlerChrysler is resisting NHTSA pressure to recall these trucks, i.e. Dakotas and Durangos. Ain't that lame.

That doesn't exactly fill me with confidence that this company has the safety and welfare of its customers at heart. If I owned one of these trucks, I'd be a tiny bit cheesed off.

The worst part of all of this is that this problem has existed for some time. I remember seeing a segment on TV 3 or 4 years ago about this exact problem and Chrysler basically told everyone to f-off and that the problem was not safety related, but maintenance related.

Whatever...

If I saw this TV newsbit right, it looks like Chrysler buckled under and ordered a recall. I guess wiser heads prevailed.... finally.
