Default Does anybody have information about this dealership..

I am interested in some cars from a dealer in Quebec called Autobahn. Just curious if anybody has heard of it? With some of the cars, I see some wrecked cars in the back. Does anybody know if this dealer deals with salvage vehicles? Or would it specifically say in the ad. Its located near (or in) Windsor. Thanks!

As far as I understand, they pick up their cars from the US and they are mostly accidented and/or write-offs...

Well, if you like living dangerously, you can probably get a good deal...

But I wouldn't take that chance.

Have the car inspected even if you know that the car is rebuilt. You want to have an idea of how well it was repaired and what the mechanicals are like.

But aren't you concerned about the long-term problems that might arise from a rebuilt car? You know like after a couple of years, steering problems, body shaking, premature wear of tires, cheap new paint job, body panel discolour, etc...

Thanks for all the help and suggestions. The listing for the vehicle is no longer in the search data base as well as any other vehicles from this dealer as well. Hmm, maybe they saw this thread heh.

I actually had a friend call (just in case they only speak French) for the VIN number, and they said they would not give it over the phone. They also said the car has not been salvaged, or in debt. Just suspicious now why they won't give out the VIN.

Well, if they're keeping info from you, it smells fishy fishy...

A TV segment that aired last night dealt with used car dealers re-selling collision junkers and write-offs. I think it was either "Fifth Estate" or "W5". Pretty scary stuff... and topical to this thread! 8)

Their advice was to check the VIN history, and have the vehicle inspected by a mechanic you trust. If the dealer balks at either of these measures... run, don't walk away. You're dealing with crooks.

Cities with the worst offenders? Toronto and Vancouver.

P.S. Whoa! Where did that speedometer avatar come from ?!?

Well, people on the french side were sick of the steering wheels, so I tried to make something new in very short notice.

I've got mixed feelings so far...! hehhe
