Default Looking for fuel economy tips, tuning...

Hi,

I recently bought a Suzuki Vitara 2002 (4 cylinder engines) and for my own pleasure i'm looking to improve it's fuel economy efficiency. I'm trying different kind of products, and i'm currently testing them to see the difference in mpg. If you know some little trick, just leave it to me i plan to test it independently and redo some mpg test in the future.

Here's my blog on the subject:

careful

there's so many things affecting fuel mileage that if you dont have a lab or a dyno, you'll never be able to come even close to an accurate comparison

just keep your cars engine in good shape and tires properly inflated. Avoid products that say they give better mileage. Ask any mechanic or engineer, and they'll tell you theyre crap.

Here is an excerpt of the blog:

"This morning my friend told me that gas prices are dropping to under 1$ a liter in Montreal! Wow, that’s amazing! It will be 10 cents less than last week! I drive a Suzuki Vitara 2002 with 65 liter tank, which means I will save an amazing 6,50$ for my next fill up !

On my journey to save on gas prices and try to lower air pollution, I was browsing the Internet looking for different kinds of patented inventions which supposedly help to increase fuel economy and I recently ordered a gadget which is supposed to change the way the air intake works on my car. The company claims I will save on fuel and lower air pollution by making a little tornado in the air intake of my engine…Duh…! I will try it soon.

Here’s my current fuel economy results, - Note my current mileage results (MPG) without any of these products…

I ordered some gas pills a few days ago and I will try them as soon they are delivered - I can’t wait to see if it’s another Internet scam regarding fuel economy products. These little gas pills are supposed to save from 7% to 14% on gas usage and also help to lower air pollution………..we will see!

I drove to Ontario last week to do my own air pollution emission test on my car before trying any of these products. Why?? Because in Montreal (Quebec) I cannot find any place that does this kind of test…weird - it’s as if there’s no problem with air pollution in Quebec province…

Now I have just found another gadget - it’s a magnetic fuel economy product which I have to place on my gas line to enhance the fuel that is burned in the combustion chamber. THEY CLAIM, I will save around 11%…I ordered it on e-bay this morning and I plan to test it in a near future…

Based on what these companies claim - if I continue to add all these fuel economy gadgets and pills to my car, THEN GAS SHOULD APPEAR LIKE MAGIC IN MY FUEL TANK !"

Add your comments, it is interesting stuff...
