It certainly looks like electric vehicles are coming back, and considering the pace of the battery technology advancement these days, they will be here to stay. It's amazing how many companies are currently developing electric cars with launch dates between now and 2010. There are small city cars, mainstream sedans and kickass sportscars in various stages of development all around the world.
www.evcanada.org has a nice summary of what EV industry has and will have to offer. I really hope that at least few of them will be available here in Canada in the next few years. |

I was recently at a car show in London, England and was quite impressed by the amount of electric vehicles running around in that city.
It's a pity but our government seems more interested in telling "us how to save the planet", rather than leading by example like the Europeans. Why the Toronto police need honking great gas guzzlers to run around in downtown TO beats me, and the public works crews are still driving around the city's parks using North American pickups??? In London, their parks crews use....Electric vehicles!!! While I was there, I even drove an electric motorcycle which the UK police are thinking of putting into service. In my opinion, it's about time our government started walking the walk instead of just talking the talk!!! |

I am really looking forward to these electric vehicles, not are these rides environment-friendly, they are also a good alternative for gas-fueled cars. I can't wait to have one.
