does anyone have a sugjestion as to where to camp near the F1 track

If you are lucky and cowboy enough you can camp striaght on the Notre-Dame island where the circuit is, but there no legal site.

East most (top on the picture) and West most (bottom on the picture) is where I would suggest to adventure yourself
