What do kids between 20 -30 know about cars NOTHING!!!!

Exactly!! This age group produces the least amount of sales for our client. Buy identifying what this market knows about vehicles, and what their choices are based on, our client can then tailor its marketing campaign to these factors and hopefully raise the number of sales in this category, increasing their overall market share.

I agree with you Airbalancer, those Nissan ads are just plain stupid. Mind you, they are not alone in that. It seems to me, the more boring the car, the more ridicules the ad!!!

While we're on the subject of the Nissan Versa, I took a friend of my wife's out in search of a new car recently. She looked at the Versa and was quite upset that the car did not come standard with fog lamps. It wasn't that she wanted them particularly, but Nissan simply left the fog lamp holders in place, and fitted little round plastic caps where the lights should have been.

This annoyed her. She felt that Nissan was pressuring her into purchasing the optional fog lamps, or she'd have to drive around in a car where everyone knew that she had been too cheap to buy them.

I hadn't thought about it before, but I think that she may have a point. Manufacturer's should either throw the fog lights in as standard, which many companies do (after all, they're not that expensive), or have proper flat plates in the bumper to cover up where the fog lights should be.

A silly thing perhaps, but it was enough to put her off the Versa!

What annoys me the most about cars today, is that you can't buy a premium vehicle anymore without purchasing all the bells and whistles.

When I was a kid you could buy Jaguar's, BMW's, even Mercedes with wind up windows and cloth seats.

Think about that for a moment. Do you really need all that electronic stuff? Take power seats for example... how many of us out there truly share a vehicle, so once you've positioned the drivers seat, how often do you need to change it again? Is anyone that lazy that they can't pull on a little lever once or twice a year? All we're doing is loading up cars with heavy equipment and adding to the weight and fuel costs!

Then you get the ridicules double up on stuff. I've driven several cars lately that have a sat nav system and a compass in the mirror. What's that for, a second opinion ??? :?

To give you an idea, I had the Audi RS4 recently...What a car! In fact, the best all round driver's car I've ever driven, but...it's a little pricey. I actually considered selling some of my collection and buying one for myself (it's that good!). However, if I purchased a car like that I'm buying it for how it performs, so I don't want the added weight of power seats. Heck, I'd even do without the power windows for that matter. The sat nav system can go bye bye's for sure because it's "...CENSORED...", and I certainly don't need the i-pod and smart media plug ins. Blimey, I've only just sorted through my cassette tape collection and converted them to CD's! :lol:

Of course, you can't buy a stripped down version. That would make way too much sense in a high performance car!

Maybe I'm getting a little old for all this high-tech modern stuff (at 47), but guess what...most guys buying expensive high performance cars are!

See, that's the problem. You might want memory seats, but do you really want everything else which goes with that particular package.

Myself, I like a nice sounding stereo, but I don't want i-pod and smart media plug ins, I'm more than happy with CD's. Especially if the unit can play MP3's on them, because I have discs with over 250 songs on each. In my Bentley, I have a nice older top-of-the-line Pioneer system with a 12 pack in the trunk. That amounts to about 3000 songs. Where on earth am I going to drive to where I'd need more musical entertainment than that?

It also seems to me that today if you want a good stereo system, you need to purchase the GPS unit to go along with it. I already own an awesome portable Tom Tom unit (I'd highly recommend it) which I can take anywhere, even walking about town. I can also download cool voices like John Cleese and Ozzy Osbourne onto it, or even record my own personal "Crash commands" Why would I possibly want a boring factory unit installed in my car?

Then there's the multi function steering wheel with the audio controls on it. With so many things in a car to distract you already, that seems to me like a sensible option for safety's sake alone. However, most companies, particularly some of the high-end brands, require you to buy an additional package to get this feature.

I don't know, there has to be a more sensible approach to optional features than what we are being offered today.

With the Highlander Hybrid, they have only one package, so it base or everything
Like why would anyone want 19" wheels, :roll:
17" are big enough
Stereo I do not need a good one my hearing is shot, I have a ringing in my head 24/7, where the SD slot on the radios :lol:
