Default Smaller cars becoming a big hit

Miniature cars are coming to town and they're already a huge hit for many reasons, and fuel efficiency is not the only consumer factor that comes in to play.

"The industry is dealing with one, this economic downtown, which is a slowing in sales like we have had in the past, but this secular change is really remarkable," said Alex Taylor of Fortune Magazine. "People are staying away from trucks and big sports utility vehicles, and pounding on their dealers to get more small cars."

Taylor said high gas prices have certainly pushed people to buy small cars and hybrids.

"Good small cars should get between 28 and 35 miles per gallon if you drive prudently and don't race your friends," he said..."

With the fuel prices today, it really is not surprising that many people are shifting to smaller cars. What do you guys think about this shift? Is it wise to trade in your trucks and SUV's for the smaller cars?
