Default Record-setting run-up ends, gas prices level off

The latest news on gas prices from The Arizona Republic. And they say that gas prices are gonna go down anytime soon...

Gas prices still are painfully high, but in Arizona they have stabilized in the past month after a sharp run-up that set records nearly each day from mid-March through late June.

The state average of $4.08 per gallon is down a penny from last week but still $1.18 more a gallon than a year ago, according to AAA Arizona. That's $23.60 more per 20-gallon tank full.

Phoenix prices are $4.10 a gallon, flat for a month and down from the record $4.14 set June 20. They are even with the national average.

The highest prices in the state are in Flagstaff, with an average $4.24 per gallon. Tucson is lowest, with a $3.83 average.

Do you guys still think that the price of fuel has any hope of coming down?
