Default year of this car

my grandparents have an MG Midget in an old barn on their property. None of us can remember what year it is? can anyone on here pinpoint a 2-3 year range. I'm thinking its mid 70's. but what do you guys think?

It looks to me to be an MG Midget, somewhere around the late 60's-early 70's because of the chrome bumpers. As I recall, the bumpers changed to rubber around 1973-4. Also, the grille on yours looks like a later plastic style, and the bumpers are chrome but not rounded, and there are no fender mirrors (Typical of 60's cars). Another tell tale is the front turn signal lights which are all yellow and not half white and half yellow (Export model). So, if I had to pin it down a little more, I would guess 1970-72.

If you need further info I suggest getting hold of one of the MG car clubs. You could try...The MG car club of Toronto, you'll find them on the web.

One more thing...The MG Midget is a great little car. It is easy to work on (Very Basic) and the parts are really cheap for it. At a quick look, it doesn't look as if the rust has got hold of the car too bad. You say that it is your Grandparents car? I'd might be tempted to say, have a little chat with them and see if they would let you restore it. It might be nice for them to see the vehicle back on the road, and it would make a great starter car for anyone going into classic cars. They are also very good on fuel.

Just a thought!
