Default Tire specs

Being involved in the auto industry for more than 50yrs. as well as being a former racer I find it incomprehensible for you to suggest that tire manufacturers are not capable of determining proper tire inflation. If that were truly the case why is it they post these on the sidewall of their product. It is imperative the public be informed as to the reasons along with the dealers that provide them. After replacing tires on my lady friends vehicle the installer inflated them to the suggested sidewall min.Which also gave the best mileage, (by the way). Do they not have engineers that are capable of that decision. If this is a decision that is left to the car manufacturer then why is it they don't produce their own product.Skynard
