Default Rust

Hi. I love my Kia. Recently I attempted to change a tire. I discovered that the entire spare tire area is rusted through. What the heck is going on. The bolt that holds the spare in place is rusted and will not come out. There are even small holes that go through and through. Additionally, the jack is rusted and inoperable. Is there a recall? Have others had this problem? Tell me something. Please.

Which Kia? How old is it? Did you buy it new or used?

My guess is that you bought it used and that it was previously in a rear-end collision. Perhaps, you yourself were in a this type of accident with the car.

The oldest Kias (real Kias, not Fords or Mazdas) are about 10 years old and unless they were seriously neglected or suffered massive water infiltration, this should not be.

I would look into the car's history to find out more.

Get back to us with more info!
