I am in Washington DC this week to take a couple of Lincoln products for a test drive.

Times are changing. With the economy the way it is, customers are changing how they shop and what they buy. It is no longer about quantity but quality. Buyers looking for luxury in today's modern times no longer need to impress, they want to express. Make a statement and stand out.

Today, I get to spend the entire day in the all new Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. A very beautiful looking car, with power and a luxury brand name that now boasts best-in-class fuel efficiency.

In this class of mid-size luxury sedans, hybrid is not a common thing. The 2010 Lexus HS 250h was rated as the most fuel efficient last year. Lincoln's second-generation 2.5-litre Atkinson-cycle I4 hybrid engine boasts an EPA certified 4.6 L/100 km in the city and 5.4 on the highway.

After spending the day with this car and driving it in mixed, but mostly city driving, I was able to get the readout to 42 mpg (I am in the US remember?) which roughly equals 5.6 L/100 km.

I love the bold-looking split-wing front grille and the gorgeous chrome accents add a touch of class in all the right places. The back side features dual chrome exhaust tips and LED taillamps. Everything that you would expect from a luxury vehicle.
