Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé Pebble Beach 60th anniversary special edition

This year marked the 60th anniversary of the legendary Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in Carmel, California. To celebrate the occasion, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars developed a bespoke Phantom Drophead Coupé at the company's Goodwood manufacturing plant, UK. The car was unveiled at the event by Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös and Chief Designer Ian Cameron, and was sold within minutes.

Things have been going well for Rolls-Royce since the British cult brand was snapped up by the BMW Group. Putting the brand's rich and nearly infinite tradition to good use, the engineers are gearing up to present yet another new concept at the Geneva Show, the 200EX sedan.

Rolls-Royce, quite proud of its sales since the launch of the full-size Phantom sedan and its variations, has deemed it appropriate to limit changes for 2009. Always in the name of offering cars with a unique attitude, the automaker is polishing the Phantom's already considerable exclusivity.

Rolls-Royce RR4: the ''baby'' spied!

It's a GO! Prototypes of the "baby" Rolls-Royce, known internally as RR4, are busy testing wearing much less camouflage than ever before! The new and slightly less formal Rolls-Royce will likely be riding on BMW's long-wheelbase 7-Series platform using its V8 or V12, maybe even a turbodiesel engine. Pricing will start in the low $300,000 range. It will consequently be a direct competitor of Mercedes' Maybach and Bentley's Continental Flying Spur.
