Ford kicked off the New Year with a bang – and a new teaser of the 2012 Ford Focus EV. The automaker announced that the car will make its debut at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
The decision may seem a little weird with the Detroit auto show just one week away, but Ford will obviously make the most of the CES launch and probably enjoy more media exposure than at the NAIAS, where vehicle premieres are plentiful.
Moreover, the brand is synonymous with high-tech electronics, including MyTouch and numerous iPhone/iPod/iPad apps. Technophiles will likely fall for the gadget-filled Focus EV, which is expected to offer a range of 100 miles thanks to a pack of lithium-polymer batteries (a full charge will take up to 8 hours).
