Pros: You’ll get the latest in BMW’s design and engineering, and you’ll be able to drop the top any time you desire.

Cons: The retractable hardtop, while practical in all weather, eats up a good chunk of the trunk when stored; and the vehicle’s entire rigidity is compromised if you ever wish to track your 4 Series Cabriolet.

2015 BMW 4 Series Cabriolet Price and Fuel Economy: Essentially, there are only 2 different 4 Series Cabriolets (sporting 2 different engines) but each is offered with either RWD or BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive setup. The pricing (as well as combined fuel economy for each as they differ depending on engine spec and drivetrain) is as follows:

  • 2015 BMW 428i Cabriolet $58,200 – 8.9L/100km
  • 2015 BMW 428i xDrive Cabriolet $59,900 – 9.6L/100km
  • 2015 BMW 435i Cabriolet $67,400 – 9.9L/100km
  • 2015 BMW 435i xDrive Cabriolet $69,100 – 10.3L/100km

Powertrain: There are 2 engines available for the 4 Series Cabriolet. The first, in the 428i, is an inline 4-cylinder that produces 241 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. And in the 435i you’ll find a potent TwinPower turbocharged 3.0L inline 6-cylinder mill that pushes out an even 300 horses and torques. As mentioned above, power can be sent to the rear wheels or to all 4, depending on model choice. Transmission choices reside in an 8-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual.

Changes and Improvements: The entire 4 Series lineup is new, so everything about this vehicle is changed and improved. You will be driving the latest and greatest from the Bavarian giants.

Cargo Capacity: There’s seating for four in the 2015 BMW 4 Series Cabriolet, and with the top up you can fit 368 litres worth of kit in the trunk. Retract that hard top and the space diminishes to 220 litres.

Safety: The 2015 BMW 4 Series is equipped with all manner of standard safety equipment and airbags, as well as BMW Head-Up display, all-around camera systems, and active cruise control with stop&go technology.

Comparing the 2015 BMW 4 Series Cabriolet: Audi A5 Cabriolet, Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet, Chevrolet Camaro Convertible.
