An SUV on steroids

Pros: It’s a “practical” SUV… with close to 600 horsepower.

Cons: It’s a big, heavy SUV with close to 600 horsepower and absolutely no off-road ability despite offering xDrive.

2015 BMW X5 M Price and Fuel Economy: There is only one BMW X5 M to gawk at, with one engine, and one price: $105,900. And if you’re curious about fuel economy, this really isn’t the car for you. BMW lists the combined rating at 14.6L/100km.

Powertrain: This hopped up BMW X5 M features a 4.4L 8-cylinder with two TwinScroll turbochargers that produce a blistering 575 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. The 2015 BMW X5 M will hit 100km/hr from a standstill in just 4.2 seconds. Power is sent to all four wheels via BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive system, and is handled via an 8-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission. The 2015 BMW X5 M also features M compound brakes and M Drive buttons that offer configurable and personal drive profiles for suspension, engine performance and even steering characteristics.

Changes and Improvements: The BMW X5 M has remained largely unchanged, however, it did see a body restyle in 2014 when the entire X5 lineup was updated.

Cargo Capacity: The BMW X5 M offers seating for five, and the same cargo capacity as the regular X5: 651 litres of cargo space in the trunk (1,868 litres with the second row folded).

Safety: The 2015 BMW X5 M is equipped with all manner of safety equipment and airbags, including surround view cameras, lane change warning, BMW Head-Up display, as well as park assistant.
