The race for the 2016 Canadian Green Car of the Year awards is on with three finalists now vying for the crown in six different categories. The winners will be crowned on April 15th at the Green Living Show in Toronto. 

These vehicles are said to have the biggest potential of saving the environment.

The 15 members of the jury, all top automotive writers in Canada, considered such aspects as eco-friendly features, efficiency, and desirability.

Plug-in hybrid

  • Chevrolet Volt
  • Volvo XC90 T8

Hybrid

  • Hyundai Sonata Hybrid (There is just one conventional hybrid eligible for the 2016 Canadian Green Car of the Year awards)

Internal combustion engine (gasoline or diesel)

  • Ford Focus 1.0L EcoBoost
