The all-new, second-generation 2016 Chevrolet Volt will carry a base MSRP of $38,390 in Canada. However, buyers can expect to pay as little as $29,890 after the full provincial incentive (up to $8,500).

While cheaper than its predecessor, the 2016 Chevrolet Volt offers more standard features including:

  • Location-based charging
  • Regen-On-Demand system
  • Rear-view camera
  • LED low-beam headlamps
  • 10 airbags

Interestingly, the 2016 Chevrolet Volt can travel up to 80 kilometres in EV mode with a fully charged battery. That's a 31% improvement over the first-generation model, meaning Volt owners should anticipate that approximately 90% of their trips will be emission-free. When the gasoline-powered generator is needed, combined fuel consumption is expected to hover around 5.7L/100km.

“The next generation Chevrolet Volt delivers more technology, significantly increased EV range and even more refinement. It’s what our loyal Volt owners told us they wanted,” said Bob McClelland, brand director, Chevrolet in Canada. “With a lower starting price, unique Canadian content and more standard equipment, the Volt will deliver exceptional value and attract new customers.”

The 2016 Chevrolet Volt will soon arrive in dealer showrooms across the country.
