Cadillac’s all-new 2017 XT5 luxury crossover made its Canadian debut it this week’s Montreal International Auto Show. The XT5 is a completely new model built on a unique chassis and structure, and the carmaker has high hopes for the vehicle in the Canadian market, Cadillac’s third-largest global market. Production for the vehicle is expected to start in spring 2016.
A brand-new entry in the high-end crossover segment, the XT5’s focus is squarely on an optimized interior, with increased leg- and head-room, luxury amenities and finishes and exclusive technology features. At the same time, Cadillac is presenting the hefty XT5 as benefiting from a surprisingly responsive and light-feeling driving dynamic.
According to Dominique Boucher, Cadillac sales and marketing manager for Canada’s eastern region, “The all-new XT5 has been developed from the inside out to provide customers more space, technology and luxury in this key segment.” Without doubt, the all-new XT5 is an obvious nod in the direction of Cadillac’s core demographic, with which the carmaker is doing very well in Canada – year-over-year sales for 2015 were up 16%.
