Three drivers are in the hunt for the 2012 title of the Andros Trophy ice racing series following the St-Die des Vosges event.

Veteran Bertrand Balas, driving a MINI Clubman, captured victory in Race 1, becoming the 7th different race winner so far this season.

Franck Lagorce (Skoda Fabia), drove a strong race and finished second ahead of the surprising Benjamin Riviere who drives a private Skoda Fabia.

However, things changed quite a bit in Race 2. Balas was beaten by Riviere in the Elite Sup finale. Jean-Baptiste Dubourg (Renault Clio 3) claimed third place followed by Nicolas Prost in a Dacia Lodgy, Paul Belmondo (Skoda Fabia) and Canadian Jacques Villeneuve (Skoda).

Lagorce won the last Elite Sup finale of the day, beating Alain Prost, Balas and Evens Stievenart (Dacia Lodgy).

This means that with just one race to go, privateer Riviere is first in the overall standings thanks to his 813 points, and Alain Prost second with the same amount of points. Jean-Philippe Dayraut (MINI) is third with 808 points. The title will be decided at the final event of the season held next weekend.
