Generally, the powers of a lightweight supercar are concerned mainly with more mischievous and juvenile things-- though the highly anticipated Audi R8 V10 just helped raise over a million dollars for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County at the 2009 Boca Raton Concours d' Elegance.


The R8 V10 isn't scheduled to land in North America until late this year, though auctioneers accepted bids for the first one planned for our shores. The winning bidder offered to give his rights to the first R8 V10 if Audi would give him the second model available. Subsequently, Audi agreed-- and the two R8 V10 models sold for a combined $850,000. There was a Ferrari California up for grabs too- though its final bid was a comparatively meager $350,000.

The lucky winner of the first pair of R8 V10's in the country will enjoy a 525 horsepower V10 engine and Quattro all wheel drive.
