After making its debut on the 6 sedan, Mazda's new styling language will soon be applied to the smaller 3. Though not officially set to be released until next month's Los Angeles auto show, Mazda's provided a sneak peak at the upcoming model- including some photos.

In Paris, Citroën presented the embodiment of the virtual fantasy of Grand Turismo 5's creators. Directly inspired by the game, the French manufacturer's engineers have brought to life the car with the herringbone emblem.

World debuts for Mitsubishi at Paris

It's going to be a busy few weeks for Mitsubishi with product debuts at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. The automaker's Lancer Sportback model made its world debut this week, featuring a 5-door hatchback configuration, two-litre turbo engine, twin-clutch gearbox and all wheel drive. Lancer Sportback was joined by the revised Mitsubishi Colt, a compact European model that's built in the Netherlands. The latest version of the successful model features the new company grille treatment, a restyled backside and a new turbo trim level.

Following the three-door A1 Project Quattro from 2007, Audi's presenting their A1 Sportback Concept at this year's Paris motor show. The five-door subcompact is a showcase vehicle that combines hybrid fuel efficiency and exciting new technologies which may hint at future offerings from the carmaker.

eco:Drive, a green driving management program

For the inauguration of the Mondial de l'automobile de Paris, Fiat has introduced a computer application that allows owners of certain Fiat models to improve the way they drive: the program informs them of the effects their driving style has on fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. It is dubbed eco:Drive. Owners of certain Fiat models can download the application from the manufacturer's website at www.fiat.com/ecodrive.

Cruze cabin unveiled in Paris

With an audience of 350 automotive journalists from around the world, Chevrolet premiered the stars of its lineup at the Mondial de l'automobile de Paris. On top of the Orlando and Volt concepts, Chevrolet presented the production models of the Camaro and Cruze. These cars were already well known, except for one major detail, the passenger compartment of the Cruze, the compact sedan that will be replacing the Cobalt on the North American market.

The Paris show seems promising for Porsche: other than the Cayenne S Transsyberia, the manufacturer will be presenting no less than three other versions of its popular models. First off, the 911 will finally be available in its new Targa digs with moonroof; the glass surface will take up a whopping 16.5 square feet and retract in just 7 seconds.

Mark Fields described the MKT concept introduced at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show as "...full-size premium utility (that) offers the comfort of a luxury sedan, the spaciousness and flexibility of a full-size utility and the performance of a sporty roadster...," and we think - by the looks of this prototype - that Ford is staying rather close to the concept for this production luxury utility vehicle.
