Reigning national champion Antoine L'Estage drove perfectly this weekend in Maniwaki, Quebec, to clinch his sixth win at the Perce-Neige Rally, the curtain-raising event of the 2014 Canadian Rally Championship (CRC).

L’Estage led from start to finish aboard his Mitsubishi Evo X.

"That's how we wanted to kick-off the Canadian season," admitted the St-Jean-sur-Richelieu native. "It's an important step towards a seventh title."

Co-driven by his sister Nathalie – L'Estage former co-driver –, Pat Richard managed to bring his Subaru Impreza WRX STI 08 home in second place, to keep himself in the fight for the championship.

Alexandre Beland and Lyne Murphy completed the podium in their Impreza WRX STI.

Two front runners, Max Riddle and Steeve Hobbs, both retired with mechanical problems.

L'Estage is now heading to Missouri, where in two weeks he will fight the likes of Travis Pastrana, Ken Block and Dave Higgins at the 100 Acre Wood Rally.

"It's going to be one intense four-way fight for the win," noted the CRC and North American standings' leader.
