Ford shows another glimpse of the 2010 Mustang
Friday, October 03, 2008
Ford's been teasing Mustang fans and auto enthusiasts alike with occasional teaser shots of the upcoming 2010 model. The photos don't reveal much- though we do know that the pony emblem itself has been revised to present a more dynamic and edgy appearance, and that changes won't take the car incredibly far from its current look. The latest photograph was released Thursday, and shows part of the car's front-end. Not much to see- other than a recessed grille and headlight combination similar to the present car, flanked by wider fenders with tidier lines.

It's raining Porsche special editions
Thursday, October 02, 2008
The Paris show seems promising for Porsche: other than the Cayenne S Transsyberia, the manufacturer will be presenting no less than three other versions of its popular models. 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Review
Saturday, October 11, 2008
A number of compact relatively inexpensive rockets have come to market lately, such as the Dodge SRT4 and the Mazdaspeed3. Chevrolet has launched the latest salvo in this thin-wallet performance war with the 2008 Cobalt SS. It's a front-wheel-drive coupe that for 2008 is fitted with a turbocharger rather than last year's supercharger.

A Challenger named Samantha!
Thursday, October 02, 2008
On September 19, a Snake Skin Green Dodge Challenger SRT8 nicknamed Samantha crossed the finish line of the 7th annual Targa Newfoundland. The team wound up in second place in Class 9 Modified Large and 22nd overall. It was a success, according to driver Ralph Gilles -- the same Canadian who became Vice-President of Design at Chrysler LLC just 18 days earlier.

smart improves its 2009 fortwo
Wednesday, September 17, 2008
With the success of its compact little urban car, smart has decided to slightly refine its formula with the addition of standard equipment and colours. The changes are essentially minor, the Red Metallic and Light Yellow colours being replaced in favour of Grey Metallic and Rally Red, both of which have been added to the other four colours of the palette, as well as the dozen exterior colour combinations.

2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse First Impressions (video)
Thursday, September 18, 2008
The Mitsubishi Eclipse gets a fresh new look for 2009. Well, kind of... You see, in order to bridge the gap between the latest-generation model (introduced back in 2006) and its eventual successor (expected by 2011 according to some sources), the sporty Japanese coupe benefits from various cosmetic changes that will put the car in line with the Lancer Evolution X.

2008 Porsche 911 Carrera Review
Monday, September 22, 2008
You have to be a die-hard Porsche enthusiast to identify the many different 911 models. The key is to spot details like wheel designs and spoilers. Of course, you can cheat and look at the badge affixed to the rear trunk. The Carrera marks the entry point of the 911 lineup -- I won't use the term "base model" to describe any 911. After all, the 325-horsepower Carrera is a premium sports car through and through. It thrills the heck out of you all the way to your intended destination.

2008 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Review
Saturday, September 13, 2008
Chevrolet engineers managed to create a sporty compact car that can rival the Mazdaspeed3 and Honda Civic Si. The Chevrolet Cobalt SS showcases a number of skills and sporty dynamics which the regular model had yet to achieve. This turbocharged Cobalt sure is a solid performer, but the biggest surprise comes from its handling and braking capabilities -- two key attributes for any aspiring sports car.

2000-2005 and 2006-2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Pre-Owned
Saturday, September 06, 2008
Chevrolet's Monte Carlo always looked the part of a stylish and expressive coupe, geared towards owners who wanted a luxurious and upscale experience from a two-door model. It's based on the Chevrolet Impala- so it's big, as far as a coupe is concerned. One of the most instantly recognizable Chevrolet products on the road, the last two generations spanned from 2000 to 2007.

2008 Honda Accord Coupe EX-L V6 Review
Monday, September 08, 2008
It's not easy being a mid-size, two-door coupe these days. Chevy's Monte Carlo got its final pit stop last year, while Pontiac is still selling the G6 Coupe, and Nissan recently added a coupe version of its popular Altima. However, you can pretty much count the Accord Coupe's competition on one hand.

2008 BMW M3 Coupe Review (video)
Wednesday, September 17, 2008
A BMW 3-Series can be a sensible and level-headed car- until engineers cram the engine bay with a rev-happy 414 horsepower V8 and install all the racecar hardware to go with it. That constitutes the latest version of BMW's performance tuned M3, with its first ever V8 engine. It's sold in coupe, sedan or convertible variants, so there are numerous ways to justify it to your significant other.

2009 Dodge Challenger First Impressions
Monday, August 18, 2008
New York City, New York - Well, I finally made it, and here I am in the Big Apple to bring you the complete rundown on the new Dodge Challenger lineup. However, before we get into all that, I simply have to make a statement, and that is..."I can't recall ever driving a vehicle which draws as much attention as the new Dodge Challenger".

The Challenger Launches in New York City...What a Challenge...r
Thursday, August 14, 2008
When I first heard that yours truly was the chosen one to attend the Dodge Challenger launch in New York City I could hardly retain myself. After all, there has been so much hype about the new muscle car from Dodge, and the thought of driving it in the Big Apple, a city that I had not yet visited, just added to the excitement. I packed my bags several days earlier, as if that would make the days go faster, and although I was told to be at the airport 2 hours prior to the flight I was actually there 3 hours ahead of schedule.

Canadians love Godzilla! (video)
Thursday, August 07, 2008
Deliveries of the new 2009 Nissan GT-R to Canadian customers started in July and, since then, the automaker has been multiplying opportunities to showcase this outstanding supercar -- affectionately nicknamed Godzilla -- to rabid Canadian enthusiasts. On July 24, Nissan Canada handed to a lucky Southern Ontario customer the keys to the very first GT-R in Canada. Stanislaus Gonsalves, from Oakville, got to take his GT-R home before everybody else. He ordered it way back in July of last year.

The new Lotus Evora wows the press at the British International Motor Show
Friday, August 01, 2008
A number of new vehicles made their debut at the British Motor Show this year, but perhaps the most important, and possibly the most relevant to us (as it's rumored to be coming here), was the New Lotus Evora. Now I'm sure that some of you have already seen spy shots of it, but let me tell you, when the covers finally came off the Evora, the crowd in the UK literally went wild.

2009 Mazda RX-8 R3 Review
Thursday, July 31, 2008
For 2009, Mazda's flagship sports coupe gets numerous improvements. While relatively subtle, these upgrades inject newfound dynamism into the car. After five years on the market, the RX-8 was beginning to show serious signs of age. The rebirth took place last January at the Detroit Auto Show. The design is remarkable. The RX-8 is simply magnificent, evolving with flair while retaining the same overall look.

2008 BMW 135i Review
Sunday, August 24, 2008
The 1 Series we know is actually a remake of the European car, adapted for North America. On the other side of the pond, this same vehicle actually takes the shape of two hatchbacks, one 3-door version and one 5-door. After the failure of the 318ti (1995-1999), BMW obviously wasn't going to make the same mistake twice, i.e. import a small luxury hatchback with a steep price tag.

2008 Audi R8 Review
Wednesday, August 13, 2008
Today, the exotic sports car is very much alive because there are still rich people on this planet that have nothing else to do but to spend money. New models are still coming along to please the wealthy, like the Audi R8, the Nissan GT-R, the Ferrari California and the Maserati GranTurismo. We're even witnessing supercars appearing in the most oddball shapes, like a 550-hp Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, for example.

2008 Mustang Bullitt Review (video)
Tuesday, September 02, 2008
It's usually some sort of standout feature that sets a special or 'high-performance' model apart from the 'normal' machine on which it's based. A spoiler, special bumper, or hood-scoop, for instance, are all telltale signs that you're looking at something a little bit special. That said, Ford's got the Mustang Bullitt a bit backwards. It's not what it's got that sets it apart- but what it doesn't

2008 Dodge ZEO Prototype (video)
Wednesday, August 06, 2008
Chelsea, Michigan - Who said a "green" vehicle has to look like a university professor's car? Well, the Dodge ZEO proves them wrong. The size of a Volvo C30, the "2+2" passenger compartment is cloaked in an elegant body flowing into a distinctive tailgate.

2008 Mazda RX-8 40th Anniversary Edition Review
Wednesday, July 16, 2008
Off the bat, the RX-8 is unusual; it was designed as a sports car and drives like a sports car, but there's a real trunk, four doors and a different kind of engine. Weird or not, it still has to measure up to such coupes as the Nissan Altima and Mitsubishi Eclipse, but also newcomers like the BMW 135i.

2008 BMW 135i Coupe Review
Tuesday, July 22, 2008
There's lots of big news coming out of BMW this year. Obviously, the all-new M3 fits nicely into that category. However, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the vehicle which I tested this week will have a far greater impact on the Canadian market. Yes, the new 1-Series which recently hit the streets may not have all the boasting rights of its big brother the M3, but trust me, when this new puppy is fitted with the 3.0L twin-turbo motor and the available M package, it turns into a bit of a Jack Russell Terrier.

2008 BMW 128i Review
Saturday, September 20, 2008
The road winds down in front of me. I never lose sight of what lies far ahead while steering the car in the perfect trajectory with my fingertips. Then, with a slight dip of the throttle, the engine revs up and the BMW 128i surges forward, managing sharp turns and sudden decelerations without ever complaining.

2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 First Impressions (video)
Thursday, July 03, 2008
Taking advantage of Chrysler Group's 2009 vehicle presentation at the Chelsea Proving Grounds in Michigan, the team at Auto123.com spent some time behind the wheel of the all-new Dodge Challenger. We tried out a 2008 SRT8 model since the 2009 Challengers on hand were not suitable for testing. Their official launch is scheduled for this fall.

2008 Porsche Cayman S Review
Friday, August 29, 2008
The Porsche Cayman S is a pure driver's car. With a 6-speed manual gearbox and 295 horsepower, it can either be docile like a German Shepherd or ferocious like a roaring lion. It loves highways and byroads. Plus, cargo capacity is pretty decent, which is rare for such a sports car.

2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT-P Review (video)
Monday, August 25, 2008
The Mitsubishi Eclipse has always been an exciting and youthful car that dared to be different. It's now bigger and safer than ever--but it's still packed full of the same 'affordable exotic' DNA that's made it a hot commodity throughout many circles. Four- or six-cylinder power is available, as is an automatic or manual transmission and coupe or convertible body styles. Whether it's a miserly ragtop or a rip-roaring coupe you're after, there's an Eclipse that's right for the job.

2008 Infiniti G37 Sport Review
Friday, July 25, 2008
2008 brings new styling and plenty more horsepower to Infiniti's G Coupe which is now, labeled "G37" in recognition of the increased displacement under its wave-inspired hood. Although styling changes for 2008 don't standout dramatically, the new G Coupe is slightly longer, lower and wider that its predecessor. The new body also exhibits a little more artistry and depth, making the G37 one of the more attractive coupes in the premium segment.

2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt Review
Wednesday, July 23, 2008
Step back in time with me to the days of high performance pony cars and testosterone-fuelled cop movies. I'm talking of course about San Francisco Detective Lieutenant Frank Bullitt and his dark Highland green 1968 Mustang Fastback. Ford has resurrected much of that heart-pounding nostalgia in the 2008 Bullitt version of their punchy steed.

2008 Audi A5 3.2 quattro Review
Wednesday, July 02, 2008
In the old days, a coupe was considered more of a driver's car than a sedan. A two-door car provided its owner with more style and driving pleasure than a family-oriented four-door. Times have changed, as sedans have gotten more adventurous designs and more powerful engines. The coupe has pretty much lost its place in the market, and a decreasing number of manufacturers are producing them now, since a lot less customers are buying them.
