Chrysler’s famous minivans get a major makeover in 2011. As such, Grand Caravan pretty much stays the course for model-year 2010.
The model hierarchy starts with the Canada Value Package (CVP), then moves to the SE Stow ‘N Go, and then to the top-shelf SXT.
Some options have been dropped from all models, such as integrated child bench seat, and the load-leveling and height control rear suspension. For 2010, SE and SXT have respective “Plus” packages, purporting to add “value and appeal.” Standard powerplant is the OHV 12-valve 3.3-litre V6 and 4-speed automatic transmission. The SXT can be optioned with the 4.0-litre V6, which is paired with a 6-speed automatic. Both engines receive a new Fuel Saver Indicator feature, and the 4.0-litre also gets Decel Fuel Shut-Off (iDFSO). Standard now on Grand Caravans are cloth seats with Stain Repel properties and lumbar adjust. The minivans continue to be available with their unique rear seats that swivel, so occupants can face each other. Other new features Chrysler pioneered in this segment are Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path (comes as one system). Blind Spot Monitoring requires no customer input, and is active anytime the vehicle is moving forward, whether the minivan is the "passer" or the "passee.". With input from dual wideband radar sensor, an icon in the mirror notifies the driver when another vehicle is in the blind spots (drivers can also select audible chime). Rear Cross Path warns drivers in parking lot settings, anytime the minivan is in reverse. The driver is notified of vehicles crossing behind the vehicle via an icon in the side mirror and a chime. Pricing starts at $27,445.
