The all-new 2016 Lincoln MKX – the quietest and most powerful yet – made its global debut yesterday at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. It will also appear for the first time in Canada on Thursday, January 15th, at the Montreal Auto Show.

The standard engine is a 3.7L V6 that's projected to deliver 300 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. Leading the engine choices for the 2016 Lincoln MKX, however, is the available 2.7L twin-turbocharged Ti-VCT EcoBoost V6, which is projected to generate more than 330 horsepower and over 370 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with push-button shift. SelectShift functionality is accessed through paddles on the steering wheel.

New available 22-way adjustable front seats with active motion help reduce muscle fatigue, while further adjustments can be made through the 4-way power head restraint and the power thigh extender.

A host of helpful driver aids and technologies are available, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping system, blind spot information system, cross-traffic alert, and the standard height-adjustable hands-free power liftgate.

Let's not forget the available Revel audio system (with 13 or 19 speakers), front-view camera, 360-degree camera, 12-sensor ultrasonic system (enabling a full range of available parking assist features), and the MyLincoln Mobile app (giving owners the ability to start, lock, unlock and locate their vehicle, as well as schedule a remote start).

The all-new 2016 Lincoln MKX goes on sale first in the U.S. this fall, followed by other markets including China, Canada, the Middle East, Mexico, and South Korea. Pricing will be announced at a later date.
