From press release
In a dominant way, Jamie Green (Audi) has won the DTM season opener at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg. After he started from pole position, the Briton’s first place was never in jeopardy – even two safety car interventions couldn’t stop the Audi driver on his way to his ninth DTM career win.
After 26 laps, Pascal Wehrlein (Mercedes-Benz) crossed the finish line in second place, followed by his fellow Mercedes-Benz driver Paul Di Resta (Mercedes-Benz). In seventh position, Maxime Martin was the best-placed BMW driver in the race on Saturday. “I was fast even last year but was simply unfortunate in the races,” Green said following his first victory for Audi. “Today, everything went perfectly. I’m driving in the same team, have the same engineer and feel comfortable in my Audi RS 5 DTM. All I can say is I’m happy.” Today, however, will not be a day for excessive partying at Hockenheim as the second race of the 2015 DTM is scheduled for Sunday, preceded by a warm-up and another qualifying session.
