Audi Sport Team Joest took a hard earned victory in the second round of the WEC at Spa Saturday after a classic head to head encounter with Porsche. Benoit Treluyer in the #8 Audi R18 e-tron quattro crossed the chequered flag just ahead of the Neel Jani driven Porsche 919 Hybrid after some thrilling racing during the six hours. The #17 Porsche 919 Hybrid completed the podium after fighting back from a long stop.
JOTA Sport took a popular victory in the LMP2 class. The team which is racing in two WEC events this season fought back from a 15-second stop/go penalty for a jump start to win by a lap from the #28 G-Drive Ligier-Nissan. Aston Martin Racing emerged victorious in both the LMGTE Pro and Am classes today with its #99 and #98 Aston Martin Vantage V8 entries.
